French walnut settee with beautiful floral carvings, made in a Rococo revival style circa 1900. The traditional Louis XV style here is streamlined and modernized with subtle Art Nouveau flair, seen in the scrolling armrests. A typical sofa silhouette at the turn of the century, the slightly flared, rounded back is decorated by a floral crest. Solid walnut frame is intricately carved with flowing, organic forms throughout. Elegant cabriole legs flank the apron, decorated with flower carvings. Restored with new upholstery in natural ivory linen that complements the warm walnut frame. Quite comfortable, this petite sofa is finely constructed and very sturdy. The modern interpretation of classic French rococo style makes this settee totally unique and interesting.
